Displayed CallerID Name

We are able to set the callerID number and name that each user calls out with.

In theory, when the call is made to a Canadian number, the recipient should see the CallerID name that we send. Generally, landlines and voip systems respect this.

However, sometimes calls received on cellphones may show a different name.

1. If the number is in the cellphone’s contacts, the name that is associated with the contact would be shown rather than the name we send.
2. Some phones come with apps installed that claim to reduce spam. (For example, Samsung phones come with a Smart Call app). These apps often replace the CallerID name we send. The information they use seems to be scraped of the web, and is often out of date or just wrong.

Beware…they may also try and upsell you to additional paid services that should not be necessary.
